Continuing Education (CE) Guidelines

The VVTA is dedicated to supporting the professional growth of certified veterinary technicians (CVTs) in Vermont. To maintain your certification, you must meet the following continuing education (CE) requirements:

  • 18 CE credits every two years (biannually)
  • Members can view their CE due date within their members’ profile
  • No more than 6 credits may come from on-demand online sources per cycle
  • CE must be from RACE-approved, VVTA, or VVMA-approved sources, or equivalent recognized sources

What counts as on-demand CE?

On-demand online CE includes courses where the attendee cannot interact with the speaker. These typically include self-paced courses, journal reviews, and pre-recorded seminars. This type of CE usually involves the completion of a quiz (s) to receive CE credit.
