Rabies Titering by VVTA
VVTA is excited to offer rabies titers for veterinary professionals and other interested individuals this fall! Rabies titers are an important part of keeping yourself protected. We recommend all vaccinated individuals check their titer level at least every other year.
To make this process easier, VVTA is providing two options:
Option 1: On-Site Blood Draw Clinic
- Date: October 25, 2025
- Time: 2 pm - 4 pm
- Location: 210 Center Rd, Montpelier, VT 05062
Option 2: Drawn on you own and deliver to one of our local partner clinics:
Can’t attend the clinic? No problem! You may have your blood drawn on your own, deliver it to one of the partner clinics listed below and we will pick it up from there. Blood drawing is NOT available at the locations below; sample drop off only.
Sample handling guidelines:
- Sample must be less than 20 days old on October 25, 2025.
- Draw at least three ml’s of whole blood.
- Let clot, spin and pour off serum into a non-additive empty plastic vial.
- LABEL VIAL WITH FULL NAME AND DATE OF BLOOD DRAW
- Freeze serum immediately. Wrap vial in paper towels for protection while traveling.
- Put vial in its own Ziploc bag.
- Print a copy of your registration form and put it in another Ziploc bag
- Insert sealed serum sample bag into bag with paperwork, protecting the paperwork from sample and visa-versa.
- Keep in freezer until you are ready to drop off at a location below
- When ready to drop off: put the FROZEN sample with paperwork in a cooler with ice packs and drop off at any of the following locations between October 13 and Saturday, October 25 at noon—check that your drop off point is open before transporting!
